I have lived in the City of Chesapeake almost my entire life with exception of the first two (2) months, which was when my parents moved to the area.

I graduated from Great Bridge High School, married a local girl and received an Associates Degree from Tidewater Community College, a local two (2) year college.

My first career position was with Virginia Electric and Power Co. (VEPCO), a local utility company which is now Dominion Virginia Power. I stayed with that firm for approximately fifteen (15) years before resigning my position to seek a career in the construction business.

I began my career in construction in 1977 by building several custom homes which evolved into a business that lasted twenty-seven (27) years with over 275 homes completed. During my career as a custom builder, I was very involved with the local building association, Tidewater Builders Association, and was able to serve as their president in 2000.  During this time, I was instrumental in organizing their Remodelers Council and held the position of Chairman.

After many years of association work, and my vast amount of years and experience in the building industry, I decided to put it to good use in helping people buy and sell real estate. I became a full time agent in 2003 with a firm that marketed many of my homes during my building career and the best firm in the real estate business, in the Hampton Roads area, Rose and Womble Realty Company.

I have had the pleasure to work with many real estate agents that have sold my custom homes and I also have the pleasure to be working with a managing broker that is an individual I have know since the eighth grade.  I believe her to be one of the best managing brokers in Hampton Roads, Karen Gaskins.
